📚 FAST ELA PM1 Testing Begins This Week
Students in grades 6 and 7 will begin taking the FAST ELA Progress Monitoring 1 (PM1) assessment this week.
Tuesday, Sept. 1: ELA 6 (Mekus, Bailey 1, 2)
Wednesday, Sept. 2: ELA 6 (Leite, Bailey 4, 5)
Thursday, Sept. 3: ELA 7 (Szymanski, McLeod 1, 5)
Friday, Sept. 4: ELA 7 (Payne, McLeod 2, 3, 4)
The FAST assessment provides valuable information about each student’s progress toward Florida’s academic standards and serves as an important baseline for measuring growth throughout the school year. The results help teachers tailor instruction, identify areas of strength, and provide targeted support where needed. We encourage all students to approach the assessment with confidence and give their very best effort.
Families can help by ensuring students:
✅ Get a good night’s sleep
✅ Arrive to school on time
✅ Eat a healthy breakfast
✅ Bring a positive attitude and do their best
📖 Final Day to Order ELA Book Study Novels – September 1
Families of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students have until Tuesday, September 1 to pre-order ELA Book Study novels through Novel in the Neighborhood.
Benefits of pre-ordering include:
- Supporting a local independent bookstore
- Avoiding the back-to-school rush
- Having books delivered directly to your child’s ELA teacher
- Supporting RRMS, as 20% of all pre-order sales are returned to our school

Get ready to kick off the school year, RRMS style!
Our Back-to-School Dance: New Year’s Style will be held on:

This is a non-formal event, so students can come as you are and enjoy an evening with friends, music, and school spirit. A DJ will be on site, and concessions and Kona Ice will be available for purchase.

👑 Royal Spirit Friday – September 4
Wear your River Ridge gear or school colors on Friday and show your Royal pride! Students wearing spirit gear will receive a special treat during lunch. You can purchase new River Ridge gear on GoFan.co and pick up at the front office!
