Mrs. Murphy sent an email on Tuesday, January 26th & Thursday, January 28th with the letter below to all students who are eligible for the Extended School Day Program.
Dear River Ridge Middle School Families:
I am pleased to share information about an Extended Day Program designed to help your child succeed in school. You have been notified that your child is not making adequate progress and needs additional support to be successful.
Your child has been selected to participate in the Extended Day Program based on their standardized test scores, other assessments, teacher observations, and classroom performance. Students who participate in this program will have the opportunity to gain skills and strategies to improve their mastery of critical standards and skills.
Our Extended School Day program will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:15PM-5:15PM beginning on Monday, February 8, 2021 and ending on May 22nd. This program is entirely free. Student to teacher ratio will be approximately 20 to 1. Bus transportation is available using community depot stops and not your students’ regular daily stop. This transportation will not begin immediately after the end of the program day and this delay may result in students arriving at stops after dark.
As an academic enhancement program that focuses on specific skills, if behavioral concerns or attendance issues develop, we may need to reconsider a student’s participation in this program. Space may be limited. If you would like your child to be considered for the Extended Day Program, please click on and complete the link on the RRMS website which is included below: https://rrms.pasco.k12.fl.us/mform/view.php?id=60829 by Monday, February 1, 2021. You will be notified of your child’s placement in the Extended Day Program by Friday, February 5, 2021.
If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Principal, Kevin Kolean at kkolean@pasco.k12.fl.us.
Thank you,
Angie Murphy
Principal
