Weekly Principal’s Message

The entire River Ridge campus will be celebrating River Ridge Spirit Week and #StartwithHello Week from September 23-27 to go on a Royal Road Trip with dress up days, Royal Road Trip Kindness Card and a Pep Rally on Friday! Start with Hello Week raises awareness about social isolation and educates students and the community on how to prevent it by reaching out to others who may be feeling left out, lonely or invisible. Our goal is that all Royal Knights feel a sense of belonging and celebrate what it means to be Royal by spreading caring & kindness. Students will receive a Royal Road Trip Kindness Card in 1st period on Monday, September 23rd. Students are encouraged to complete the acts of kindness throughout the week. An adult will need to sign the squares when they are done for students to be eligible for a special treat at lunch on Friday. This is a great opportunity to intentionally embed social emotional learning in our every day, meet new people and spread our royal culture of caring!

We encourage all students to get involved and participate in the Dress Up Days. When dressing up, students should stay in dress code but may wear hats if it goes with their outfit. There should be no masks or props. Each day we will count those students who dress up in lunches which will be added to the overall spirit points for the Spirit Stick at the Pep Rally on Friday.

Good afternoon Royal Knights. This is Mrs. Murphy, Principal of River Ridge Middle School.
I am looking forward to welcoming back all of our Royal Knights tomorrow morning when school starts at 7:30AM. The campus will be open to students starting at 7AM. Students who are car riders should only be dropped off and picked up in the middle school car loop. We ask that you be patient and courteous as there is usually a lot of traffic during the first few weeks. If at all possible, we are recommending that if your child is assigned a bus to please use the bus transportation as it limits the traffic. When students arrive on campus, they will be greeted by our Royal staff and should go to the media center or cafeteria to find their first period classes listed on the windows. Students will then report to first period when the first bell rings and will receive a brand new official schedule. Students should only follow the schedule they receive in first period as there have been some schedule changes.  Students will receive new River Ridge planners first period, which we will be using school-wide for communication and organization this year. Students may also pay fees and turn in emergency cards, healthy student forms, fundraiser Opt Out forms and peer volunteer forms directly to their teachers.

In the afternoon, the bus line up is posted on our website and will also be around campus so that students are aware which row their bus will be in at the middle school bus loop.

Please make sure that you are connected with River Ridge by visiting our website, following us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @rrmsroyalknight. We will be posting many pictures and important information from the first day and throughout the year on these sites.

This week we will also have football tryouts Monday-Friday after school at 2PM. Meet in the boy’s locker room. We will also have Cheerleading tryouts on Wednesday-Friday from 2PM-3:30PM in the dance room.  Please make sure you have an up to date physical and paperwork completed to tryout.

Friday will be our Royal Spirit Day so make sure you wear your purple, black and silver to Rep the Ridge.

As always, if you have any questions or need clarifications, please don’t hesitate to contact us. I can’t wait to see our entire Royal Family back on campus ready to make this the best year ever at River Ridge Middle School as we level up because #WeAreRoyal!
