7th & 8th Grade: American Sign Language 1 (1.0)
American Sign Language 1 (High School Course) introduces students to the target language and its culture. The student will develop communicative skills in all 3 modes of communication and cross-cultural understanding. Emphasis is placed on proficient communication in the language with introductions to culture, connections, comparisons, and communities.
Note: This course will count as a World Language toward the 4-year university requirement of taking 2-years of a world language.
